99 with loose ends

with 6 comments

This is post  #99.

It feels the right time for me to do a quick look back just to see what I failed to follow-up on in previous posts – I don’t like to leave you all hanging!

Before I do so, I’d just want to mention that in the next Construed post up(#100), will be my first Comic Book Review. If you’ve missed out on what I’m talking about here, then go back 15 posts to read the announcement.

OK onto the loose ends…

Videogaming

A few bits to tidy up here:

My copy of Spore still remains unopened – I will get to it sometime soon, now the hype surronding this game has passed away. Anyone still playing with this toy, I mean game?

I’d love to finish both Fallout 3 & Bioshock.

Spider-Man: Web of Shadows is also crying-out to to be played – I did give this to a friend to play & his initial thoughts were bad but he did go on to complete it in the end. The more he played it, the more forgiving he was of the game’s shortcomings – this alone makes me want to give it a spin.

You can also expect a Skate 2 review by me, up at Caught in the Crossfire by the end of the month – if not before.

Music

I promise there will be more to come on this topic – I’ve even got a ticket to a gig in March which is my first for many a year! More on that soon.

Movies

I have two that I have been meaning to watch but they still remain unwatched, they are: The Fountain & Dark City. Of course, the end of this month sees the premiere of the Watchmen movie which I hope to catch at a good cinema -  maybe even at the IMAX in London.

TV

CSI & Heroes are my main catch-ups – I have yet to watch at least 8 Heroes shows before it broke at the end of last year. I have some thoughts on the new season of CSI, written down in note-form, which I want to share here on Construed but I may wait for a few more shows to air before I do so.

OK that’s all my tying up done. Just remember, if your a comic book fan like me then keep a sharp eye out for post #100, as I’m back reading monthly comic books again!

  1. I’ve half-finished a lot of games. I’m trying to level up in CoD:WaW multiplayer. Bioshock and Fallout 3 are incomplete for me as well. I want to go through Hard in GH:World Tour and finish the drums in Rock Band 2.

As for movies, I’d like to see Taken, but will probably wait for it to come to rental. There are some things I’d like to see in the theater, but I don’t think any of those are due for another few months.

    • Don’t rate going to the cinema/theatre much anymore but I’ve never been to the IMAX, so may decided to venture to see Watchmen on the big screen.

A Bioshock movie would work well – obviously handled by the right producers etc. I’m sure I read something about the movie, somewhere

  2. I’ve been to IMAX many times, but never to see a Hollywood film. I’m not sure how much difference it makes for that. A normal IMAX documentary really makes use of the technology, such as with helicopter fly-overs (it can really feel like there’s nothing under your feet).

That’s the only place I’ve seen 3D shows too, and they did some good ones. One about the Old West started off in an ironworks, and it looked like the hot melted iron flowing down the cast was going to pour into my lap. Awesome.

    • Feel a little bit of a snob when I say that, my choice of going to a IMAX theatre means that I actually get to watch the film in peace without certain ignorant people, that tend to go the cinema as an excuse to hangout with their friends, who talk their way through the entire length of the movie.

3D? Havn’t seen anything like that since I was a pre-teen! I know My Bloody Valentine 3D has just been released…

  3. Dark City is one of my favorite movies, so I would recommend watching that one first. The fountain is very strange and might take a second viewing to actually understand it fully…course, I had to do the same thing with Dune when it first came out, which might mean I’m pretty slow. lol

Fallout 3 is lots of fun, but I would also recommend Left 4 Dead as well, if your into co op shooters with a bit of adrenalin rush.

    • Ever tried reading the Dune books? They are very dense but still enjoyable.

I’ve tried Left 4 Dead(you can read my thoughts in the here) & Fallout 3 is a very slow grower – patience is definately need to get the best from it.
